王："李小姐在做什么呢？
李：她在睡觉呢！
王：都十一点了，她在睡觉呢！这个人也太喜欢睡觉。＊
李：她不是喜欢睡觉的，她是爱睡觉的！你怎么了？
王：我想请她吃饭。
李：你想请她吃什么饭？
王：中国饭。
李：她不喜欢吃中国菜。
王：好的。那，我请她去看电影。
李：我能不能和你们去？
王：你不是在学习吗？
李：我不想学习了。我想出去。
王：好的。我们三个人去看电影。
李：什么时候去？
王：今天晚上六点二十分，怎么样？
李：很好。我们怎么去？
王：我们坐出租车。我们不能坐飞机去看电影！
李：好了，好了。晚上见*！
王：晚上见！”

NOTE:

* 都 dōu can be placed in front of the time to express the idea of "already". It is very much spoken Chinese without being familiar. 也 yě before 太 tài strengthens this meaning. It is also very much a spoken language use without being familiar.

* 晚上见 wǎnshàng jiàn: see you tonight. Composed of 晚上 wǎnshàng "evening" and 见 jiàn as in 再见 zàijiàn "goodbye". This word will be detailed in Lesson 2 of Level 2.

TRANSLATION

Wang: "What is Miss Li doing?"
Li: She's sleeping!
Wang: It is (already) 11 hours and she is sleeping! She really likes to sleep too much!
Li: It's not that she likes to sleep, she loves to sleep. What's the matter with you?
Wang: I would like to invite her to eat.
Li: You wish to invite her to eat which kind of food?
Wang: Chinese food.
Li: She does not like Chinese food.
Wang: Okay. So I'm going to invite her to go to the cinema.
Li: Can I go with you?
Wang: You're not studying?
Li: I do not want to study anymore. I would like to go out.
Wang: Okay. Let's go to the cinema all three of us.
Li: When are we going?
Wang: At 6:20 pm tonight. What do you think?
Li: All right. How are we going?
Wang: By taxi! You cannot fly to the movies!
Li: Alright, alright. See you tonight.
Wang: See you tonight. "
