Feeling of china : Shanghai's transport
I am a Chinese teacher in a high school in the south of France. In order to improve the communicative language skills and the understanding of Chinese culture and history of my students, I took them on a one-week trip to China.
The twin school I contacted is located in Shanghai. The student representatives from the twin school warmly greeted us at the airport. Shanghai is the economic center of China. It is an international city. It was the first time in China for most French students. Shanghai's modern transport surprised them: multi-storey highways, buses coming and going, taxis and drivers who do not know the road and are easily mistaken for direction.
The school is in Pudong. Previously, the streets were narrow and the vehicles numerous. Now the situation has changed a lot for student safety. Not only have the roads been widened, free parking has been installed nearby, but in addition there are traffic police at the time of the courses. The traffic jam situation has changed a lot.
The second day we took the subway to go to Puxi. The transport tools in China are new and also very fast. In a short time, we heard the announcement: "We are coming to the next stop and we are begging the passengers to get ready". Following the warnings of the announcement, we arrived at the most lively place in Shanghai: People's Square.
