现在 xiànzài : now

上午 shàngwǔ : morning

时候 shíhou : moment

什么时候 shénme shíhou : when?

néng : to can

lái : to come

去年 qùnián : last year

huí : (to return)

回去 huíqù : to return (getting away) (see grammar)

回来 huílai : to return (getting closer) (see grammar)

kàn : to look, to see

: to hit / practice (a martial art)

电话 diànhuà : phone

说话 shuōhuà : to speak (see grammar)

打电话 dǎ diànhuà : to call (phone)

jiā : family, home

le : modal particle indicating that the situation is new (change of situation). See the grammar.

méi : negation (in a past context). This chinese character has already been seen in lesson 2 in the expression 没关系 méi guānxi "Never mind".

liǎng : number "two" for the time and quantities (see grammar).

wèi : Hey ! (telephone greeting)
