中国在地球的东半球和北半球，是世界上的第三大国。

中国西高东低，南北各有一条大河，在南方的长江是中国也是亚洲最长的河，全长6397 公里，它由西向东，流经十几个省市，最后流入海洋。

北方的黄河是中国第二大河，从中国西部流向东部，全长5464公里，从地图上看，它就像一个大大的“几”字。 它们都是中国的“母亲河” 。

中国南北距离大约5500公里，因此南北气候有很大区别。北方的冬天很冷，比较干燥，而南方的夏天温度很高，经常下雨，所以很湿润。
