Here is the synthesis dialogue of the unit. To build automatic reflexes (being able to understand and produce sentences in Chinese without having to think), we advise you to learn it by heart. First practice repeating it orally, then translating it from Chinese to English, and finally translating it from English to Chinese.

- 白雪：李老师，你家有几口人？
- 李明：我家有四口人。
- 白雪：你有几个孩子？
- 李明：我有两个孩子。一个女儿和一个儿子。你家呢？
- 白雪：我的家人很多。
- 李明：有几个人？
- 白雪：有七个人。
- 李明：他们都是谁？
- 白雪：我的爸爸、妈妈、一个哥哥、一个姐姐、两个妹妹和我。
- 李明：你没有弟弟吗？
- 白雪：我没有弟弟。
How many people are there in your family?
- Bai Xue: Professor Li, how many people are there in your family?
- Li Ming: My family has four people.
- Bai Xue: How many children do you have?
- Li Ming: I have two children. A daughter and a son. And your family?
- Bai Xue: My family is very large.
